Currently reclining in a 12th century Cistercian priory after walking our first 200km. We meandered along the Lot River for most of the last week, enjoying the scorching French Autumn and the refreshing roadside delights of walnuts, chestnuts, figs, apples, pears and pomegranates. Two days were spent in the company of Ramon and Serge, walking along the river with their donkey Pichu and his beautiful yellow wagon. Could we ask for a better roadside companion? days are being spent at the Priory making chicken houses, excavating, weeding, foraging, varnishing and mainly cooking and eating culinary wonders under the shade of the walnut tree with Nick and Sam. We will leave here soon to continue our route to Milan, check our route page to see where (roughly) we have traveled by so far. We couldn't have asked for better hosts. This place is wonderful.
